Planks create calm and tranquility in the room. Wooden floors usually follow the main direction of movement or light in the room. Traditionally, planks are laid parallel to the longest wall. However, in certain spaces, you may consider laying the wood flooring at a certain angle, as this usually directs a person around the corner or to adjacent areas. We distinguish three types of plank laying:

Fixed width planks are the most common flooring pattern. It is praised for its calm and serene impression.


Floors made of planks of different widths are considered more organic/natural because trees create planks of different widths. A "mixed width" plank floor combines a number of widths that are installed in a repeating pattern.
